In addition to academic programming, the Foundation supports a variety of experiential learning opportunities. Each year, students participate in an annual field trip to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries where they are introduced to fish production, angling skills, habitat conversation, and how all these contribute to the state’s waterways and recreation. Groups participate in fishing at casting ponds, attending a native fish feeding program, viewing an outdoor hatchery and walking the wetland trail.
